What I liked

I loved learning about the human body and different diseases! We were able to watch surgeries and attend different meetings with doctors, surgeons, and hospital administration.

What I wish was different

Although it was an amazing experiance, I wish we could have been in person. Because of COVID-19, the event was done virtually.

Float Patient Care Associate

What I liked

I love being a float PCA because I am able to work a variety of units from labor and delivery to an ICU or even medical-surgical unit. I love being an employee for Northwell Health as well because they give a lot of benefits. I love working in the big apple and everything the hospital offers.

What I wish was different

I wish as a PCA, we'd be able to do things that techs do like take blood etc.

Advice

Always put the patients first, as a PCA we deal with the patients the most and I can say I haven't had tough patients, I believe, because I always make sure their needs are met.

Shadowing Intern

What I liked

The doctor, David J. Langer, M. D., was extremely accommodating, making sure all the interns were able to observe a surgery each day, observe clinical rounds, and work on an independent project. My time was both informative and fun because of his willingness to share his work and his obvious love for his job.

What I wish was different

I only wish that I had more time to spend as an intern!

Advice

I advise other interns to not be afraid to speak up with any questions because the doctors are extremely willing to have conversations when not busy and want us to have an enjoyable experience.
