What I liked

I really enjoyed the people I worked with. This was the second summer I worked there, and the manager was awesome to me and my fellow employees. I also enjoyed learning about an area I previously had next-to-no knowledge in, and I ended up being very knowledgeable by the end of my first summer there.

What I wish was different

I wish the organization of work scheduling had been better. It was hard to plan my personal schedule outside of work because the work scheduling was almost never done in advance, and I never knew which days/hours I worked until the week of.

Advice

My one piece of advice would be to not be afraid of stepping outside of your comfort zone. Going into the job, I felt very uncomfortable helping people with stuff I didn't know much about. However, as the days went on I learned as I went and my knowledge and confidence grew quickly to the point where customers complimented my advice and thanked me for all of my help. Once that happened, I was proud of myself for stepping up and for all the progress I made since I started.

What I liked

My manager was flexible with scheduling and accommodated me when I need to switch things around. I was able to learn a lot about customer management and providing excellent customer service. Working here helped me learn how to become very knowledgable on a subject in a short period of time.

What I wish was different

At time my boss' actions made me slightly uncomfortable. Sometimes I was left to do tasks that I did not feel ready to do on my own yet. I wish I had more proper training before dealing with a high volume of customers.

Advice

Confidence truly is key. When you are confident, competent, and knowledgable on a product , the customer is also more confident in what you are telling them. When you're not so confident, don't be afraid to ASK QUESTIONS. If you never ask, you may never know!
