Advice

Be prepared and study terms as quickly as possible since cases have to be taken care of as soon as possible.

Virtual Intern

June - August 2020 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Lettuce is very good at making personal connections with each individual student despite the large number of interns they manage. The company culture is incredibly inclusive and kind- Lettuce makes it clear that its employees and guests are its top priority.

What I wish was different

My internship experience was redesigned to be virtual due to COVID. This made it hard to stay engaged and meet with my team members regularly. While I appreciate that Lettuce still decided to hold its internship program, the internship became more of a chore.

Advice

Make sure to distinguish yourself by reaching out directly to the resources they provide for you. The internship team is more than happy to help in any way they can.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would share that creating a business from scratch takes a lot more work than one would think. Make sure to look into all aspects when researching your concept.

Videography Intern

May - August 2019 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I liked that it was real, hands-on experience shooting stylized videos used for high level marketing on websites, social media, and more. Learning how to edit in a consistent workflow for multiple different social media platforms was also very helpful & I feel like it took my skillset a step up. The working environment was very positive, open, and I felt I could be myself. The internship program itself is really fun, engaging, and comes with a lot of yummy perks.

PR Intern

May - August 2016 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

Very hands on and such a cool internship program. While I worked in the corporate office, I had the chance to interact with other interns from various restaurants in the city. Very immersive.

What I wish was different

Advice

Make up your own projects and proposals. Many interns expect to be told everything to do, but that's not the case. It's up to the intern to bring new initiatives to the table and make their own projects to better their experience and contributions to the company.
