LimeLight Marketing

Graphics Intern

January - August 2020 • Pittsburg, KS

What I liked

My internship has allowed me to advance my design skills in many ways, but beyond design, I have also had the opportunity to develop stronger personal skills. The creative team at LimeLight is very open and dependable. They enjoy collaborating to push each other to develop the strongest design possible. The team is also always striving to learn new design techniques and programs. One of the sayings at LimeLight is “crave learning.” I can see how my collaboration, presentation, and design skills have advanced since starting in January.

What I wish was different

Overall I had an amazing internship experience. The one thing I wish could have been different was my school schedule. I happened to be taking a lot of college credit hours while completing my internship which didn't allow for a lot of flexibility with my work schedule.

Advice

When beginning my internship, I was pleased with how well prepared I felt as I got into the workflow at LimeLight. Thanks to my technical design courses I had a strong foundation of knowledge to start from. I would advise anyone going into an internship to try and have a small understanding of what they will be doing during their time there. I would also advise them to never be afraid to communicate and ask questions. Generally, employers are happier to see you ask for help and learn in the process, rather than silently struggling (which can turn into wasted time, resources, and potentially restarting the assigned work).
