What I liked

My time at Linguae Christi was ultimately an enlightening experience for me in terms of what I'd want to do career wise. It was a real learning experience through the assignments given to us, ranging from the historical research of people and language groups and migrations in Europe, to using Duolingo to learn and practice a new language as a fun and educational addition to the internship's curriculum. Everything that was taught to us interns has left a significant impact on me that a really enjoyed. Additionally, the staff that we worked with such as Brittany, Trey, and John, have been so helpful in making this work experience as fun and educational, as well as suited to our needs and circumstances, for us interns. Lastly, through its emphasis on the importance of Christian ministry and outreach, this internships has ultimately helped me to realize and clarify what areas of ministry I could serve in.

What I wish was different

For this year, the LC ministry had to adjust its schedule to allow for an online internship for those that applied, limiting the timeframe of work and events to just one month. However, I'd believe something that could have been different was having more time on our hands to do the research and communicate with one another and, in doing so, have more opportunity to do produce more work, research, and projects over the course of the internship. The time constraint limited our research to only one language, though it could have been possible to have tried for two languages within the month, not counting the final week or two as the start for this research and work.

Advice

I would say, if you have a keen interest in the realm of ministry and/or in languages, specifically those in Europe, then that would be greatly necessary when coming into this internship. In some occasions, it would definitely be necessary to have prior knowledge and experience in researching and even speaking other languages before applying to LC. Other than that, I would lastly say that they can expect to learn a great deal from this internship experience, whether it be trying to speak a new language or clarity on where, or whether or not, in the ministry field a person can best serve.
