Maine Dems is looking for residents of Maine to join our efforts to get out and talk to voters. We are a political organization that wants to get residents involved, motivated, and educated about the 2020 election and Maine’s progressive candidates. Canvassers will be trained and vetted to give them confidence to speak to Maine voters about issues their communities are facing. For example, health care/public health, election reform and more. We are also hiring recruiters to actively bring us new canvassers. Recruiters' pay is also $20/HOUR!
We encourage team recruitment and allow families and friends to canvass together. This position requires a willingness to learn about politics and activism but does not require previous political experience. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in politics and there is opportunity for growth for those who are dedicated and have prior political knowledge.
Training will occur in small groups while practicing social distancing with PPE on. Canvassers will be given PPE including masks, gloves, wipes, hand sanitizer and optional face shields.
Must be over the age of 18, have a smartphone, and transportation access preferred.
