Maine Migrant Health Program

About Maine Migrant Health Program

Maine Migrant Health Program (MMHP) is a unique safety net provider in Maine, providing mobile medical care to farm workers throughout the State of Maine. Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (MSFWs) are one of the country’s most underserved and invisible populations facing barriers to health care including limited transportation, poverty and lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate services. MMHP provides services in the evenings on-site in migrant housing and work areas. In addition, MMHP provides case coordination to patients including medical interpretation and transportation. http://www.mainemobile.org/

“Enjoyed the opportunity to work with Spanish speaking patients all the while staying in Maine. The intensity and variability of the weeks and that necessitated teamwork was quite enjoyable”
