What I liked

My job was to create components for an app, and I found it exciting to write code and then directly see the results -- it was a job where I felt a sense of accomplishment. The work environment was also relaxed and comfortable.

What I wish was different

Due to Covid restrictions, I was not able to go into the office regularly, and I found it difficult to be productive at my apartment. I wish that I could have been in the office regularly. Additionally there were some problems that were extremely difficult to solve (like bugs relating to setting up the app environment), and I felt like I could not get help when I was working from my apartment. Ultimately I wish that there was more help available.

Advice

The work is problem solving heavy, and my experience is that the senior developers prefer that you try to work through each problem yourself instead of asking many questions. Although this type of work strategy can be frustrating, my advice would be to just keep calm and remember that the internet is your friend because lots of other people have worked through the exact same or similar problems.
