I loved getting to work with reporters and editors and multimedia specialists on a daily basis. It was a very closely knit newsroom and I was able to learn and grow alongside some of the best journalists in Michigan. They gave me the freedom to find my own stories but balanced that with assigned stories I could take and run with.
What I wish was different
I wish it would have been longer! I loved it and was sad to leave.
Advice
Ask for help and advice. No one expects you to know everything coming in, and you can learn and grow a lot from the people around you, who have been in the industry for years.
