I was able to work with clients like adidas and PUMA which I wouldn't be able to do at other jobs and internships, especially at my age. I was not getting coffee for the employees as I was constantly working and improving my skills. It was very hands on and self driven work which you won't have a chance at other programs.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more direction as majority of the work was self driven. As my boss was a photographer he was always out shooting for projects. Thus, majority of us interns had to work with little direction which became very last minute critiques and changes on projects. I wish there was a project manager that could direct the time as it would make everything way more efficient. Also, I wish their was payment implememented after a certain amount of time working their since I worked unpaid for 8 months. It was a bit unreasonable for students and people whom have to pay rent which I took a hit which meant living at home for the next two years of college.
Advice
You won't get the same experience at any other internship. There was a lot of trust between interns and boss relationship so expect to be self driven and to create content without being told to. It's not for everyone and you should have a strong understanding of the adobe creative suite. Especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom. Don't expect to be paid but receive valuable skills and opportunities as an intern. I got to make a bag with adidas at age 21 most people my age don't receive an opportunity as such.
