Modesto City Schools, the 12th largest school district in California, is comprised of an elementary district (K-8) and a high school district (9-12) with a common Board of Education and administration. Seven other school districts feed into Modesto City Schools at the high school level. The District maintains a staff of about 1,700 certificated and 1,400 classified employees who serve our current enrollment of approximately 30,000 students in 22 elementary schools (K-6), four junior high schools (7-8), seven comprehensive high schools (9-12), and an extensive alternative education program. We are a proud team of professionals serving a District that has provided exemplary educational programs for students since 1871.
