It was a small company with a small office space. My coworkers were friendly and helpful. My boss (Jodi) was helpful in explaining things I didn't understand and directing me to the tasks I needed to work on.
Juneau is a lovely place to live with lots of opportunities to spend outdoors. If you like fishing, the fishing scene is a huge deal in Alaska.
What I wish was different
It was a bit hard to get ahold of the main engineer (and owner) of the firm, Mr. Morris, to ask questions that my other coworkers could not answer because he was usually busy with meetings (although not entirely his fault).
Advice
The owner and main engineer of the firm, Mr. Morris, is not always the best at expressing that he likes the work that you do, but he values strong work ethic and quality work and will be grateful for an employee who delivers on these fronts. Ask questions. Pay attention. If you need help with something, make it known. Sometimes it will feel like you're nagging about it (especially if no one but Mr. Morris can answer the question since he is very busy), but everyone in the office wants to help you do the best work you can. I definitely recommend working here.
