Content Creation Intern

May - August 2018 • Hayden, ID

What I liked

This internship afforded me quite a bit of autonomy. I set my own hours, and worked from home (or a coffee shop or library, or in the woods). I was largely at liberty to shape the content according to my vision. It gave me the opportunity to get to know an array of wonderful and fascinating people, and I learned and experienced many valuable things. Furthermore, I enjoyed immersing myself in non-academic writing.

What I wish was different

My employer and I had rather unrealistic expectations at the beginning of the summer, and our timeline was a bit skewed. But we both learned a lot (it was my employer’s first time taking an intern and organizing the internship).

This is indeed a dream job, however it is not easy. In order to do it well, you must organize your time well, be responsible and professional, and above all invest your heart in your work.
