Even through the transition to remote work, I was given lots of opportunities to be helpful and learn. While still in person, I was able to accompany the Executive Director to meetings, where I could actively learn about the role NAMI Wood County has in the community. The staff was so supportive through the pandemic and remote work and worked really hard to make sure we (the interns and staff) had fun by having themed staff meetings. Really wonderful group of people.
What I wish was different
Obviously, I wish I had been able to have a more rounded-out experience by being able to be in person for the duration of my internship - for the learning experience.
Advice
You get out of this experience what you put in. As long as you work hard to be a team player and come in with a positive attitude, you'll enjoy your time here.
