About National Restaurant Association

At the National Restaurant Association, we strive to help every one of our members build customer loyalty, find financial success and provide rewarding careers in foodservice.

Today's restaurant industry is growing rapidly. As the nation's second-largest private sector employer, more than 15 million people work in the industry across 1 million locations. The industry contributed nearly $863 billion to the economy for 2019.

Founded in 1919, the National Restaurant Association is the leading business association for the restaurant industry. Together with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the Association works to lead America’s restaurant industry into a new era of prosperity, prominence and participation, enhancing the quality of life for all we serve.

The annual National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show is the largest single gathering of restaurant, foodservice and lodging professionals in the world. The 2021 Show will be held May 22-25 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The event attracts attendees and visitors from all 50 states and 100+ countries, and showcases more products, services, innovative ideas and other growth opportunities than any other industry event. Government Affairs & Policy Intern

June 2017 - August 2017 Washington, DC
“My internship with the National Restaurant Association gave me the opportunity to attend events/hearings, study policy, and aid the policy and government affairs teams. These experiences allowed me to develop a better understanding of lobbying and the role it plays in Washington. I came away this summer feeling politically literate and with a strong foundation of political experience.”
