Neighborhood SEEN Magazine

Videography Intern

April - August 2019 • Southfield, MI

What I liked

It was a very "hands-on," internship. In all honesty, it was the most I've out of all of my classes I've taken-technically it was a class-and I enjoyed every day of this job. I was involved in the story boarding of news packages that SEEN Magazine did.

What I wish was different

I wish I got to work on more assignments instead of working on three major ones. I personally think that doing smaller assignments like interviewing particular subjects one day, and then gathering B-roll footage of a sporting event the next day, and then maybe covering the grand opening a nice and prestigious restaurant the next day. So doing more assignments, if if they would have been smaller, would have been enjoyable.

Advice

Make sure to diversify your knowledge in most aspects of professional grade video production. This will make for a smoother workflow when you film and when you finish your project in post production, and make sure to be able to have a fast turn over rate of finishing assignments. This will greatly impress your internship supervisors.
