“I loved the entire hands-on aspect of working with NFCC. My supervisor, the Assistance Director, made me feel extremely welcome within the non-profit's walls and allowed me to learn about what it meant to work within a non-profit dedicated to serving the community. Working within the environment taught me crucial skills surrounding gaining empathy, showing empathy, and embracing compassion. Additionally, my supervisor taught me so much about different aspects of our community, such as the importance of affordable housing, the role of non-profit organizations within their communities, and the need to push for outreach for every aspect of the community (including business, workplaces, schools, organizations, and beyond). ”
