Project Engineering Intern

May - August 2022 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

I learned a lot from the other engineers at NNG, as they were always willing to answer questions and teach me more about their current projects. This was a unique experience to see how project engineering can be done from an engineering standpoint, including making engineering decisions, designing, keeping projects on track, and collaborating with other project members to deliver the best product possible. I was also able to go on multiple project site visits to learn more about the projects currently going on, which was a very valuable experience and also a lot of fun.

What I wish was different

There was not a lot of hands-on work like other mechanical engineering internships may have. It would be nice to be able to work more hands-on, but this was a project-based internship, so there wasn't a lot of hands-on experience expected.

Advice

If you're ever interested in something, speak up! Lots of employers for internships want you to get the most out of your experience and are willing to give you more opportunities to learn what you're interested in if you ask!
