I was able to have a lot of hands on experience with creating a new employee manual, assisting in the hiring and termination process, helping lower the accounts receivable by contacting clients and learning typical office professionalism and appliances.
What I wish was different
I would like to see the performance review process be improved as it was one of the harder projects for me to follow. I also would like to see some employees try to connect with new employees more.
Advice
Have cultural tolerance, understanding and patience. Everyone here can speak English but most of the employees speak Chinese as it is their first language and they feel more comfortable using it. It may be hard to integrate yourself into the culture at the beginning but they are nice so be patient and they will warm up to you. There's also a good amount of people who like speaking English too so it is not a big issue.
