What I liked

This internship made my love for finance and the banking industry increase. Through my recent internship here, I have improved my analytical skills, and in-depth usage of technical analysis, by preparing weekly internal reports to the senior portfolio manager. By closely monitoring industry trends and news daily and perfecting my market analysis skills, I made more precise forecasts on various equities. I also worked with executives from multiple companies on their 401K and retirement planning daily. This led me to deal with objections and set meetings with clients, which you need to do if you want to pursue a career in finance.

What I wish was different

Advice

Come into the office with a positive attitude every day, and always strive to be the best because this will reward you in the future.

What I liked

Through the Quantumvest summer program, I learned a great deal about the stock market and the world of finance. I developed skills in technical analysis which help me understand the market and make better trades. I was able to work alongside the Senior Portfolio Manager and felt like I was adding a great deal of value to the firm. By calling potential clients, I developed sales and customer service skills as well. This experience will definitely look great on a resume and help me get my foot in the door of the finance world.

What I liked

Interning at Quantumvest was definitely a valuable experience. The main skills I learned there were technical analysis, investment analysis, and sales. The routine consisted of a morning session where all the interns met to discuss investment ideas, analysis of different companies, and how the market was moving. Also, we participated in the asset gathering process by cold calling, where we could improve our selling skills.

What I wish was different

I already had some intermediate knowledge in technical analysis so the other interns definitely received more value from the course we took.

What I liked

This was a very impactful experience. Being able to work directly with the senior portfolio manager gave me a unique and valuable perspective of the finance industry. Learning how to trade, use technical analysis, and become successful in sales are just a few of the skills gained. What I learned during this internship will not only help me get other opportunities, but will also benefit me throughout the rest of my career.
