The Queens County DA’s Office is one of five DAs offices in New York City. The office is headed by Melinda Katz who has been District Attorney of Queens County since 2020. The office is one of the largest prosecutor’s offices in the country with approximately 300 Assistant District Attorneys serving a population of 2.3 million people. Notably, Queens is the fourth most densely populated county in the United States and is often cited as the most ethnically diverse county in the entire country. Nearly half of Queens residents are foreign-born, representing 100 countries and speaking 138 languages.
