I enjoy working with the children, patients, learning from the nurses, and gaining nursing experience before I begin nursing school at ASU.

Considering I still work at Rady Childrens. It has been an amazing hospital experience. The nurses are so well equipped to be successful and they make a 2nd home for the families they serve.

What I liked
I love working at this hospital and on my specific unit! Such a perfect fit and PLNU has helped me so much in shaping me to be the type of nurse they look for.
What I wish was different
Maybe taken more time to vacation and explore before starting a full-time job

Make your cover letter and resume stand out! I was a PCA/ nursing assistant, which really helped me get my foot in the door. The hardest part is just getting an interview

What I liked
I loved the career team and patients at Rady Children's hospital. Every day was a new experience and I learned so much about what it is like to work in a hospital and how to interact with patients as well as take infection control precautions
What I wish was different
I wish I had gotten to shadow the nurses a bit more during my shifts
Advice
If you are trying to go into the healthcare field Rady Children's offers great volunteer opportunities that look great on a resumé and are extremely rewarding on a personal level, but they do not write letters of recommendation for their volunteers so keep that in mind.
