Business Technology Intern

June - August 2021 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I earned a lot on corporate communication, cross functional collaboration and executive presentation.

What I wish was different

I wish my Manager was more present and kept up with me, but he had a paternity leave which was understandable. I got assistance from other Salesforce Center of Excellence team members.

Advice

This experience was amazing and got me prepared for my future career. RBC US Wealth Management did a good job with preparing me for the real world. My volunteer experience with helping end world hunger was amazing as well.

IT intern

June - August 2020 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

The team environment, the technologies used and the learning experience for interns.

What I wish was different

The communication with the interns could be better.

Advice

I would recommend everyone in college to grab this opportunity. I learned a lot from this internship that I hadn’t learned from college. I got the exposure of what the real world career looks like and I am proud of it.

Finance intern

June - August 2020 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

The group of interns were awesome, it was great to connect with them. The company as a whole is so great. Everyone that I connected with was so helpful, everyone in the company was able and willing to help out or just speak to the interns. It was really cool to have the CEO come on and talk to the interns. Other of the C-suite executives were even willing to speak to individual interns, which is not like a lot of companies. It was a virtual internship so not having to drive in to the office was nice.

What I wish was different

I was just thankful to have the internship in person, but it would have been cool to have it in person. Other than that there is nothing I would change.

Advice

Make sure to connect with and make relationships with as many people in the company and interns as possible.

What I liked

I really liked learning about investing and about all the different roles a financial advisor has. It was cool having access to so many insight resources such as private webcasts, articles, and lunch seminars. I also got to learn Bloomberg, and did some cool projects related to stock research and asset allocation.
