You get to know the children and families on a personal level. It doesn't feel like work most of the time, but rather just having a fun time with the children.

Advice

Be yourself! Everyone brings something different to the table. Every person can bring something different to the child and family, so make sure to show what you are, and what you can bring!

What I liked

RYP is wonderful with working around student schedules to create your work schedule. They adapt your work schedule each semester so there is no worry when your class schedule changes. RYP has wonderful behavioral treatment therapists that oversee clients and the therapists working with each clients. They are always open for questions and clarification. Everyone who works for RYP truly cares about the work they are doing and it is an extremely positive environment to be in.

What I wish was different

Clients sometimes cancel which affects your work hours for the week, but this is inevitable as we are working towards the betterment of the client so we must work around their schedule.

Don't be afraid to ask questions when you have them! Everyone is here to help each other out.

What I liked

I love working with RYP! It’s right up my alley for what I’m going to school for, and it helps gain experience in my field. I love working with the kids and making an impact on their life along with forming relationships with them. It not only helps them, but it helps me. I learn every day working with them.
