What I liked

I loved the team that I was working alongside. The team made sure they knew what I wanted to learn throughout the summer. My projects and responsibilities were based on what I wanted to learn. The team reviewed the tasks that I completed, which allowed me to receive constant feedback on what I did well and how I could improve.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship was paid for the time that I spent working for the company. If I had been paid for the internship, I would have been more invested in my work, and the team would have had higher expectations for my work.

Advice

Make sure you let your employer know what you want to learn and accomplish during your time at your internship. This will allow your employer to modify what you work on to accomplish your goals.

What I liked

Since it was a smaller company, I got to play an active role and really be a part of the team, as opposed to just "some intern" that does unimportant side projects. I had meetings with the CEO at least once a week, and had lots of opportunity to voice my opinion.

What I wish was different

I wish it would have been paid, but because it wasn't, I was able to dabble more and have a lot of creative freedom.

Advice

Big companies don't always mean better. The ability to actually speak using technical terms and software is greater than if you just name drop a company.
