I like that the school really cared about the interns and my team managers helped me a lot throughout the process.

What I liked
Since all the work was remote, the schedule was quite flexible. It was also great getting to work with other interns from various levels of education (undergrads and grad students). We were able to choose a project that we wanted to work on and were able to ask for guidance with that and our daily work at any time, which was very helpful. Overall, it was a great first internship experience.
What I wish was different
Though not necessary, I would have liked to have been in Houston to meet my employers and attend events with them. I would also like to have had a bit more training and examples, but it was not a big issue since we could ask for help at any time.
Advice
I would recommend getting to know the other interns outside of just the work because you have to coordinate and possibly work on projects with them everyday. It is also a good way to get to know people outside your class.
