Advice
You should definitely take the initiative to talk to the farmers and vendors there. They have so many interesting stories to tell about their experiences and life. Communication helped me take down the language barrier I had with the vendors a little bit. Although I couldn't speak fluent Spanish, and they couldn't speak fluent English, I felt a connection to them.
