Romero Mentoring

Private Equity Analyst

September 2023 • Houston, TX

What I liked

The mentors are very quick to respond to any doubts you have and they help you throughout your training and even during the internship part, with the smallest of doubts you have. I received the promised in-depth professional training, mentoring, self-branding, recruiting advice, and the internship experience needed to become a top-performing professional. I am currently doing the internship part of the program, and I am now confident of my technical and modeling skills.

What I wish was different

In terms of the program itself, I feel everything is perfect. But personally, I wish I had learned about the program sooner so that I would have developed the skills that I have now, earlier.

Advice

If you are looking to have an edge over others while starting your career in Investment Banking, Private Equity or M&A, you should definitely be a part of Romero mentoring as you would gain practical, hands on experience with real-world case study assignments performed by professionals working at top firms. I would especially recommend this to Undergraduate students majoring in finance and wanting to have a career in Finance.

The program's hands-on project approach, real-world case studies, innovative platform, instructor-led live sessions and combined with its well-structured training modules, allowed mentees for a comprehensive and practical learning experience. This approach was instrumental in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge from college and real-world application. Additionally, the training in investment analysis and client-ready presentation skills has been pivotal in my professional development. These skills are essential in the investment banking industry, and the program's focus on them has significantly boosted my confidence and competence in the world of finance.

What I wish was different

In my experience, I think there is nothing that I wish were different, I only wish that I could found this program much earlier, so that I can equipped me well with the Investment banking financial modeling and soft skills from the program.

Private Equity Intern

What I liked

Coming out of the program, I've built such a solid and practical foundation for my career. This level of sophisticated and thorough training regarding financial models and presentation building I can get nowhere else. I had the opportunity to work directly with the Founder and Managing Partner who has over a decade of Wall Street experience, from whom I’ve learned a lot and received great mentorship. Participating in weekly live instructor-led webinars which provide market news and recent deals analysis has also helped me improve market sense and build my own opinions.

What I wish was different

I truly think there is nothing I wish had been different. I only wish I learned about this program much earlier. So it would be best if more people could know about it early on.

Advice

If you're serious about Investment Banking and Private Equity, take full advantage of this program which provides lots of valuable resources. Be ready to work hard, manage your time well, and don't be afraid to ask questions. It's intense and you will have a steep learning curve. Within about 15 weeks you’ll gain the same experience as what takes an investment banking analyst 1-2 years in workplaces.

What I liked

The team of mentors I worked with was incredibly responsive, dedicated towards improving and enhancing your learning experience, as well as super professional and highly skilled in their fields. All these aspects allowed me to receive the best level of training, and inspired me to work hard to achieve a desired outcome.

What I wish was different

To be honest, there is not one aspect I wished were different maybe aside from the fact that having more in person activities or get togethers to meet the cohort and receive in person training would have made the whole process even better.

Advice

Be willing to work hard, and with dedication for what you wish to come into fruition. Manage your time wisely, and learn to prioritize tasks. Nonetheless, be mindful of the resources offered and maximize them as well and efficiently as you can.
