I liked that I got to work fulltime and with our Great Days Program. Great Days is a program my department hosts every summer for patients, parents, and extended family members. We connect with companies all over NY and NJ asking for them to donate experiences to our families. Trips can be as small as a private art studio with a session to a private yacht club shutting down for several hours so our families can have a fun filled day. I got to see parents go out on dates and leave their worries behind for a day and I saw kids enjoy full days outside the hospital. It was an opportunity that I will always cherish.
What I wish was different
I was a bit thrown off on the change in schedule and it was difficult than I thought it would be to adjust.
Advice
Remembering that the families are people who can enjoy life, so let them.
