I would advise all interns at Safe Harbor to take advantage of this special opportunity and be open to learning new things. Safe Harbor offers valuable, lifelong learning experiences that will not only help you further your skills for your career, but also help you grow and expand your personal experiences in life.

What I liked
The internship was remote, which was great considering the circumstances with COVID, and I felt the work I did made a real impact. I also felt like I became a better writer, and the team was really fun to work with.
What I wish was different
I wish it had been paid, but I understand why it wasn't (it's a nonprofit)
Advice
Try to go above and beyond in this internship! Write extra articles, give your time to other areas of the nonprofit, and really throw yourself into it. You'll make more of an impact this way, and you'll also get more out of it!

What I liked
I loved being an intern for a nonprofit - especially during the coronavirus pandemic. I learned more about the importance of caring about other people and ensuring that your inner circle and network are all okay. I would love to have continued my partnership with Safe Harbor and recommend that everybody at least visit safeharborim.com to learn more about their mission.
