Saggio Technology

Social Media Marketer

June - August 2023 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

I really enjoyed that we had the freedom to make posts about a variety of topics. It made it more fun to create graphics and captions about topics I was interested in, especially related to technology. Also, it was very convenient to be remote, and the hours were flexible. I never felt overwhelmed, and had enough time to get everything done.

What I wish was different

I do wish hat we were given more assignments, or more of a variety of things to create. We were given the option at the beginning to ask for more hours, but with working a part-time job on the side, it was decent for me.

Advice

If you want more hours, ask. I probably would have earlier in the internship, but ended up not. If you are working a part-time job, though, the hours will probably be perfect. Also, do not be afraid to ask questions.

My experience of interning at Saggio Technology is lovely. I admire how there is a close-knit community here. Everyone is very helpful and committed to do their best. I particularly love how we have a bit of flexibility when it comes to our creativity.

What I wish was different

I do wish there was a bit more structure when it comes to our assignments.

Advice

The main objective is to gain experience and have fun!

Assistant Marketing Manager Intern

September - December 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I enjoyed the flexibility that the position offered. It allowed me to gain professional experience while being fully remote and on a schedule that worked well for me. I found everyone that I worked with to be incredibly respectful and intelligent and they were all a real pleasure to get to know throughout the internship. I really appreciated being able to make decisions regarding how I went through the internship rather than just being told what to do.

What I wish was different

I had hoped to gain some more experience leading others in a remote environment, which is something that I had not done before. My role was fairly limited to working with the same small group every week, and not in a way that particularly encouraged me to be in a management position.

Advice

Approach this internship with the mindset of needing to put in what you want to get out of it. You will benefit from trying to build the internship in the way that you would like to, within the scope of your role. For example, I wanted to improve my ability to train others in a leadership role and chose to make several training videos in order to work on that.

PR Intern

September - November 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

This was my first internship and it was a fantastic experience. This opportunity gave me hands-on experience when it comes to public relations. I felt as though I was valued and my input was appreciated. The program itself was low-stress with flexible hours. It had a focus on collaborative work and team effort. It also gives you a chance to develop connections with those you work with.

What I wish was different

As mentioned previously, this was the first semester that a PR Intern was offered. While my experience was less focused, I believe that going forward this program will become more stable.

Editor Intern

August - December 2023 • Bristol, RI

What I liked

I value the positive work atmosphere that this company provides for its staff. Supervisors are always willing to help when needed, which fosters an environment where workers feel comfortable asking for advice and freely sharing areas of uncertainty. Encouraging individuals to identify areas of knowledge gaps and pose questions is crucial for their professional development. As an editor, I had the chance to learn from my mistakes. Overall, I heartily urge anyone looking for a growth-oriented and encouraging work environment to check out this rewarding experience.

What I wish was different

An aspect I would like to see improved is my engagement with content creators. I have only had the chance to meet the people whose content I edit once as an editor. Even if the communication was good, I would have liked to communicate with them more often and promptly. Establishing a professional relationship with content creators is integral to my role, and more connectivity would definitely lead to a more collaborative dynamic.

Advice

One piece of advice is to never be afraid to ask questions. I firmly believe that others, who may also harbor doubts, will inevitably be appreciative of you for asking questions. Asking questions—even if they appear simple at first—helps to create a collaborative, learning-focused atmosphere. It is important to put the quest for knowledge ahead of any reluctance to appear ignorant. Delivering outstanding work based on clarity is valuable, even if it means momentary vulnerability during the process.

Editor Internship

August 2023 • Saint Cloud, FL

What I liked

Working for Saggio Tech as an intern was easy, fun, and it's very good for aspiring editors and proofreaders no matter the career field. The meetings are very engaging and the freedom of content creation for Saggio makes it so you can learn an interesting fact every day. Oftentimes, I'm amazed by how creative some people are with their sense of editing and the facts they share about things from food to animals to different countries' cultures.

What I wish was different

The system for penalties is very difficult to understand because it's different for editors, so keep that in mind. For some, it can be difficult to attend the weekly meetings due to the platform being Microsoft Teams, so make sure you have this program downloaded onto your computer to avoid any issues.

Advice

If I had to give any advice to future applicants, it's to always ask questions! It's never wrong to ask questions, and the people you answer to are often very generous when it comes to helping you out :)

What I liked

Going in, I was a bit nervous and unsure of exactly what was expected of me. Luckily, Dan was very welcoming and considerate of our needs, so things quickly became clear and routine for each day that we worked. I soon became confident and more explorative when making my posts, incorporating new elements and styles that I hadn’t before, which helped net me the most experience I could out of this opportunity. The requirements to engage on social media and offer praise at the beginning of each session seemed a bit tedious at first. However, I think it was necessary to create an encouraging environment and allowed those of us who liked to work independently the opportunity to engage with our peers. I developed important skills in Canva, Photoshop, and storytelling that can be easily applied to any job I take up in the future, so it was worth the effort I put in. I was motivated to apply to Saggio because of the reviews and testimonials, so I hope mine can be helpful to future applicants who want to know more.

What I wish was different

The only thing I would have wanted to be different is the introduction of quests to be pushed back until at least week 2, it felt a bit overwhelming to learn about them so soon.

Advice

Don't be afraid to do things out of your comfort zone. Dan is very open to new ideas, so any suggestions you make will likely be approved and encouraged. Also, make your comments and praises unique; this makes the person you compliment feel more encouraged and lets everyone else know that you are taking the time to look at and admire others' work.

Video Marketing Intern

January 2023 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

My experience at Saggio Technology has been riveting. I originally wanted to do photography but when I got to the interview I had no idea they also had videography/video marketing and I’m a media major so I really wanted to do that as well. Dan immediately said that I could do both and I was ecstatic to be able to contribute to both departments. Along my journey, I’ve had help readily when I needed it, been given tons of guidance, as well as great critiques on how to perfect my work for the company. I even met the CEO! Which was amazing in itself, but I can tell that he’s incredibly passionate about his company, his employees and helping others. Knowing that the people who are a part of Saggio technology love their job, makes me love creating work for them more. I’m incredibly busy and a remote internship was perfect for me. I tried 2 other internships but there was always a problem with the company’s credibility or that they were not kind. I think I hit the jackpot with Saggio. I think I could write a few pages of how I feel about the company and I still am not through with my internship. I will just say that I’ve had a great time learning and getting experience in video and photography that will push me forward to new experiences and opportunities.

What I wish was different

I honestly have no quarrels. It's been a fun internship and my first real one. I feels as though I've learned so much in the process of 2 months and I know I'll soon be learning more. I get to do what I'm passionate about and actually contribute to helping a company grow.

Advice

My advice is always ask questions. Never be afraid to communicate. They aren't going to be upset if you do. The more questions you ask, the better you'll understand the ways things work and what you're supposed to do.

AI Marketing

September 2023 • Trenton, MI

What I liked

I really like the innovative atmosphere at Saggio Technologies. The team was always willing to explore the newest AI technologies and marketing strategies. As an intern, this gave me the opportunity to work with the latest solutions and methods. Moreover, the guidance I received was extremely valuable. Senior team members are always there to help, give advice, and share their extensive experience. The company encourages a collaborative culture where my opinions and ideas as an intern were appreciated and considered.

What I wish was different

My hands-on experience at Saggio Technologies was enriching. The structured training program enabled me to quickly and efficiently grasp the nuances of the role. However, if I were to suggest a slight change, it would be in the area of task and team management. Introducing a tool like Notion, in addition to Microsoft Teams, could provide a more streamlined and visually intuitive approach to organizing tasks, teams, and projects. This can further enhance workflow and collaboration among team members, resulting in even more efficient project execution.

Advice

To all the new interns joining Saggio Technologies: take initiative in your role. Seek feedback and maintain communication with your mentors and team members. The field of AI marketing is rapidly evolving, so it's crucial to stay updated and aligned with your team's objectives. Feel free to ask questions and take the lead in areas that interest you. Saggio Technologies values proactive individuals, and there's plenty to learn for those who demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and curiosity. Additionally, prioritize your daily tasks and arrive on time for meetings. Utilize the provided tools, checklists, and resources to enhance your learning and productivity.

What I liked

My internship at Saggio Technology as a Content Writer was genuinely enriching. One aspect that truly stood out was the friendly and welcoming atmosphere fostered within the company. From day one, I felt like a part of the team, and this sense of belonging greatly enhanced my overall internship experience. The effective communication channels established for remote working also deserve praise. Despite working from different locations, the team ensured that we were always on the same page. This not only made collaboration seamless but also contributed to a productive and stress-free work environment. Another highlight of my time at Saggio Technology was the engaging community of colleagues who were always ready to help and inspire creativity. Whether I needed assistance with a project or simply wanted to brainstorm ideas, there was always someone eager to lend a hand. This sense of camaraderie created a motivating and stimulating work environment.

What I wish was different

While my internship at Saggio Technology has been largely positive, if I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to explore more opportunities for in-person interactions. Although the remote working setup is efficient, having face-to-face meetings and gatherings could have further enriched team dynamics and fostered even stronger connections among colleagues.

Advice

My advice to future interns at Saggio Technology would be to actively engage with the supportive community that surrounds you. Don't hesitate to reach out for help or collaborate on projects, as the team is incredibly welcoming and eager to assist. Additionally, make an effort to build relationships beyond work tasks, as the bonds you form with your colleagues will not only enhance your internship but also provide valuable connections for the future. In conclusion, my internship at Saggio Technology was a rewarding journey. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, effective remote communication, and an engaging community made it a fantastic experience. I'm grateful for the opportunity and the valuable skills I gained during my time here.

What I liked

This internship have been amazing so far and I really liked the mentorship meetings we have every week. My mentor, Dan Ford, gives great feedback on our work and always looking to improve this internship by asking for our feedbacks. I also liked being able to do quests and change things up so we aren't always doing the same thing every week.

What I wish was different

I wish there was an option for an in-person internship because I would love to meet the people that I'm working with. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing about this internship.

Advice

My advice is to do something you want to improve on instead of something you're familiar and good at. This internship allows you to learn so many new skills that could benefit you. You don't have to be afraid of doing bad because you're here to learn and have fun!

Social Media Intern

June - August 2023 • Columbus, IN

What I liked

Working at Saggio was great! Dan made the internship incredibly enjoyable, giving all the interns room to explore our options, and express ourselves creatively. The internship itself was a lot of fun, and we had a lot to do, from writing social media posts to working on projects that would help Saggio Technology, as well as future interns. If you enjoy having fun at work, Saggio is a great choice.

What I wish was different

Advice

Be ready to work hard. Writing for Saggio is a lot of fun, and you get plenty of opportunities to do different projects, but you need to be ready to work hard. If you give your all, you'll go far in this internship.

What I liked

There was lots of free time with working on what you needed to do. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. It is a very welcoming environment. You can switch up your normal duties to do other activities like writing, video, or comic quest. It's a nice break if you want to change your normal schedule for a week.

What I wish was different

Connecting a bit more with other interns and getting to know them more. Other than that, I have no other complaints.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you need help, ask. Everyone, especially Dan is very helpful and won't hesitate to help you in a heartbeat.

Video Marketer

June - August 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I must begin by expressing that this internship with Saggio Technology as a video marketer has far surpassed all my expectations. From the very first meeting with Dan, our site supervisor, I knew I had landed in a truly remarkable and welcoming environment that has encouraged my personal growth in numerous ways. Dan's exceptional qualities as a mentor have made this experience even more rewarding. He tirelessly works to ensure the comfort and well-being of his interns, values our feedback, and genuinely wants to see us succeed. The opportunity to create and edit videos has been an incredibly enjoyable experience, and to my delight, I have been granted a level of creative freedom beyond what I initially imagined in an internship. Notably, I have also been able to explore other areas, such as crafting engaging social media posts, and even ventured into developing my own ideas, successfully executing them with whole-hearted support from Dan. These newly acquired skills have instilled in me a newfound confidence that I eagerly anticipate applying in the future. One aspect that sets this internship apart for me is the freedom and flexibility it offers in terms of working hours. Having the autonomy to choose when and how long I want to work has been a true blessing, as it allows me to balance my responsibilities and interests effectively. The information provided throughout the internship has been presented in a clear and organized manner, making it easy to follow. In the rare instances where I encountered confusion, Dan promptly addressed my questions, ensuring I had a complete understanding of the tasks at hand. In conclusion, my experience with this internship has been nothing short of wonderful, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a rewarding and enriching opportunity. The support, guidance, and creative space offered have made this journey truly unforgettable, and I am immensely grateful for the valuable skills and experiences I have gained.

What I wish was different

I wish I had the opportunity to get to know my fellow interns better during this internship. However, I am confident that the process for future interns will be significantly improved. Around the halfway point of the internship, we initiated a group-me chat, and we also suggested having meetings with editors much earlier in the program.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to ask if you can try something different one week and do something completely different the next. Through this internship, you have the opportunity to develop so many different skills because of this freedom. Also, don’t be afraid to discuss your own “quest ideas” that aren’t offered. This is the time to explore your creativity, hone your skills, and establish new ones. Stay positive, stay curious, and have fun!

Editor Intern

June - August 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I enjoyed being able to make my own schedule and being able to choose whether I wanted to be part-time or full-time at the beginning of the internship. That would be very helpful had I chosen to either take classes during the internship or apply for an internship in the fall or spring, when I would be required to juggle classes, the internship, and possibly a job. I also appreciated how our mentor, Dan Ford, was friendly, kind, and always willing to help out the interns, no matter the situation. Working with him and the other wonderful employees at Saggio, as well as the other interns, made the internship even more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. Finally, I liked how, even though I was an Editor Intern, I had the option to try out some of the other internships as "quests" if I wanted to. In that way, I discovered my affinity towards manipulating images to post on social media by trying out the Social Media Intern position during my free time.

What I wish was different

I wish the editors had more time to meet with the students they edit for. I appreciate that we were able to meet once this summer per several of our suggestions. (Another great part of this internship is that student suggestions are always welcome!) However, I feel that the one-time meeting did not accomplish as much as I would've liked, because although I prepared material to discuss, only some of my students had questions for me, and even if our conversations were productive, we didn't meet again to follow up on what we talked about. Also, in general, it would be nice to have more time to get to know the students behind the awesome posts I've been editing for weeks. Therefore, I wish we had met together several times throughout the internship instead of just once.

Advice

I would advise you to go into this internship excited to learn about so much more than just technology. When I was accepted into the internship, I didn't know what to expect at first. Saggio is an IT consulting firm, so I thought I would be editing mostly posts about technology. I do edit some tech-related posts, but in reality, Saggio supports all kinds of creative ideas for their posts, with topics ranging widely from animals and sports to even world records, including the largest omelet ever prepared (yes, I edited a post about that!). So, go into the internship with an open mind and be ready to broaden your horizons so you can edit (or write) about a variety of topics!

Comic Creator

June - August 2023 • Allentown, PA

What I liked

I absolutely loved working with Saggio Technology. It was truly enriching to get to work with so many other creative minds to help create entertaining and hilarious comics! Everything about the schedule was perfect. With it being remote, we were able to make our own schedules and seek collaboration at any time of day. Not to mention, everyone was so supportive and understanding of each other. We were all just striving to make extraordinary comics together. Not only were we ensuring our own success, but we were also helping our colleagues achieve their goals. Working as a team is a big focus at Saggio. Working here is such a perfect way to get a feel for collaboration and to make some great friends along the way! No matter what we were focusing on or how much experience we had, no one ever made a comic alone. Every comic utilized multiple people who critiqued and/or contributed. We were always there to help and guide each other. Companionship is a key component that Saggio emphasizes and encourages. We're all just one happy family at Saggio Technology! Working for them has been an absolute blast!

What I wish was different

I thought my experience was absolutely perfect! I honestly wish I could keep working with them longer. The only downsides were a couple technology/internet issues on my end, but that's just because I worked with them remotely. Working remotely is a great opportunity because you have a more flexible schedule. It also allows you to work with people around the globe! It just might come with some technology or internet issues, which can be expected.

Advice

I would tell someone thinking about working for Saggio to just take the leap of faith! That's what I did and I had such an amazing experience! Even if you're shy, like me, and aren't the best at talking with people, you'll get used to it. It's such a great way to get out of your comfort zone and really be successful. It's always great to work with others instead of on your own, and we all understand if you're shy. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and you'll had some truly amazing experiences, like working for Saggio Technology!

Editor Intern

June - August 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

My time thus far at Saggio Technology has been an amazing growth experience for me both as a student and a person! I have enjoyed being able to work at my own pace while continuously being challenged to improve my skill set at the same time. The internship is definitely what you put into it, though. Many of the assignments designed to challenge students outside the regular workload are optional. So, you have to want to step outside your comfort zone. I personally enjoy this format as it allows me to work harder when I am in a productive mood and then do a little less work when I am having an off day. Dan, the man in charge of all Saggio internships, is another reason the internship is so great. Dan constantly uplifts everyone around him. He is humble, kind, and generous. He constantly encourages every intern to be the best version of himself possible. Dan, however, will not be leading the internships in the future. So, I will say a few words about Nate, who will be taking over in the Fall of 2023. Nate is an extremely hard-working person who always wants the best for everyone around him. I have no doubt that Nate will do an amazing job and continue to improve the internship for years to come! Finally, the schedule of the internship is, in my opinion, the optimal setup. For the editor internship, we meet once a week on Mondays for 1 hour. This is the time when we praise people we feel have done well in the past week, discuss the statistics of Saggio's social media platforms, and hear any important announcements for the coming week. There is also a 30-minute optional meeting on Wednesdays designed for interns to be able to pop in and ask any questions they have regarding the internship. Other than those two structured meetings, interns are left to their own devices to get their work done in a timely manner. This internship is very much like a job environment, which I absolutely love. I will forever be grateful to Dan and Saggio Technology for this amazing experience they have given me!

What I wish was different

The one thing that I wish had been different is the level of interaction the editor interns had with the content creators we were editing for. The process felt very disconnected at the beginning of my internship. I like to really get to know the people I am editing for. So, the fact that editors only communicated over email with the content creators at the beginning of my internship was difficult for me personally. However, I know that this policy is actively in the process of being changed. In the future, there will be regular meetings designed for editors and content creators to get to know each other and ask any questions they may have.

Advice

The one piece of advice I have for future Saggio interns or those considering applying is to participate in every opportunity offered to you during your internship. Do your best to never say no and you will walk away from your internship with so much more growth and knowledge than you walk in with. As I said above, this internship is what you make of it, seize every opportunity you possibly can and you will not regret it!

Social Media Intern

June - August 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I loved getting to know Dan and the other interns. Dan is extremely good at multi-tasking and making you feel like you're his only intern, even though he is busy with many others! For my role, I was instructed to create social media posts every week of my choosing. We were given topic ideas, but had a lot of creative license. I loved the support and feedback from Dan as I learned how to produce better posts.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't have minded some more specific prompts or instructions, but Dan is always willing and ready to apply feedback! If there is something you're not sure about, don't hesitate to ask him.

Advice

Apply today!! If you're running out of time to find an internship like I was, Saggio may very well be your answered prayer. Once you get the internship, complete your weekly tasks on time, and engage with Dan and others during the meetings to stay connected and involved.

Editor Intern

June 2023 • Rock Hill, SC

What I liked

This internship has been a fantastic journey and a great way to gain valuable experience. As an editing intern, I've enjoyed working with fellow interns to edit their posts and watch them grow as writers. It's also been great to work with the other editing interns, and I can say that I've made friends along the way. Saggio Technology has been an incredibly welcoming team, making this internship fly by. If I ever needed help or clarification, my mentor, Daniel Ford, was more than willing to help. Nathanael Planalp, a fellow intern and rising mentor, has also been a great help on many occasions. The team-focused atmosphere the two fostered was inspiring and made everyone feel at ease. Overall, this internship has given me experience in the editing and writing world and has also given me a glimpse into professional marketing. I've enjoyed getting to know professionals in the business and the opportunity to build my resume and connections. Learning how to have professional meetings and interactions with others was very valuable, and I've enjoyed working on quests to better Saggio as a whole.

What I wish was different

Although the editing internship is new to Saggio Technology, it felt like a very established position. I loved working with Dan and my fellow editor interns to determine what this role entails. I honestly couldn't ask for a better learning experience. Dan was more than willing to adapt the internship as the weeks went by to better the experience for the current editors and future interns. His willingness to accept feedback and incorporate new ideas was terrific, leading to a better overall experience. I loved getting to know the writers whose work I've edited, which was possible because of the suggestions of my fellow editors and Dan's enthusiasm for trying these recommendations. Overall, I wouldn't change anything about this internship, and I hope that Saggio's adaptability stays the same for future interns!

Advice

The best piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to ask! Ask those questions, even if you're only mildly unsure–Dan and Nate are more than willing to help. Ask about taking on extra work or projects–Saggio would love to have the help, and the experience you'll gain can only help you! Ask about making changes or tweaks to how things are done–they'll gladly hear you out and adjust where needed! This internship provides a fun and friendly environment where you and your fellow interns can thrive and grow. Don't be afraid to ask those questions! You'll gain even more valuable experience, making this internship even more enjoyable for everyone. Enjoy the ride, and don't be afraid to be yourself because working for Saggio is like joining the family.

Editor Intern

June 2023 • North Vernon, IN

What I liked

I really like gaining experience editing. I edit for 5 interns each week. One thing that was really cool about this internship was that there were quests, and we are encouraged to try things we might not have experience doing. There were different categories of quests such as creating videos, writing, etc. If I had to choose the thing I like most, though, it would be the friendly, approachable culture of the company. My feedback was valued, and I felt like I did not have to hold back when giving it. I also really liked that the internship was remote and flexible.

What I wish was different

There is a lot of great things about this internship, and there is not much I would change. When anything has come up that we wish was different, usually it just involves a conversation where we give feedback, and our thoughts are taken into consideration, especially considering the summer semester was the first time the editor internship was offered.

Advice

Don't be scared to share feedback or ask questions. Dan is always very open to receiving feedback. A few times, we had votes in our weekly meetings about whether we wanted to implement someone's idea. In addition, I was having problems with one of my video quests, and Dan walked me through how to fix the problem. Internships can feel intimidating, but if you're looking for a place to learn, grow, and share your ideas, this is the company for you.
