I learned a lot about how a Chamber operates as well as how they partner with other businesses to better the community as well as local businesses. I enjoyed being part of the many events that the Chamber is involved with around the community and I meet a lot of business owners as well as City Commissioners and the Mayor of Sanford. It was a great networking opportunity.
What I wish was different
I do wish that there was more time to learn certain skills such as Photoshop and Publisher.
Advice
Do not turn down the opportunity to do an internship if one is available because of lack of pay. My volunteer internship turned into a part-time job with pay and they work around my school schedule. It was a very positive experience and I'm glad I decided to do it.
