TEKsystems

IT recruiter

June - August 2019 • Linthicum, MD

What I liked

I loved working with the people in the office and having the feeling of providing an opportunity to those who do not have a job.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have had more time there.

Advice

I would advise someone else to talk to everyone in the office to understand their story and how they got there. There some amazing stories of the people there.

Information Technology Recruiter

June - August 2019 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I liked my ability to learn the job hands on, doing the same day-to-day tasks as full-time recruiters do at the company.

What I wish was different

There was not much I wish would have been different, because it was a great experience. I wish there was a little bit more room for creativity within the work space, which is why I am deciding to take a different route and go into advertising.

Advice

I would recommend interning at TEKsystems to any undergraduate student. It was a great experience, but interns must make sure they are willing to step out of your comfort zone and make a lot of calls. It was really great to be in a professional, fun environment.

Recruiting & Sales Intern

June - August 2019 • Melville, NY

What I liked

I liked being able to interact with many different people. I spoke with information technology consultants from all over Long Island, New York City, and New Jersey. It helped gain a different perspective of working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and locations.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have felt more welcomed there by my supervisor. I constantly received comments that I should already know how to do this, making me avoid asking questions.

Advice

I would say to future interns and/or students, get comfortable with the uncomfortable. There's always going to be something you are nervous to do or may not want to do. Once you throw yourself into it, you will feel accomplished with the results. Give it your all and put yourself in learning situations.
