I loved the flexibility of the schedule, and I got the weekends off which was great for exploring the city!
What I wish was different
I wish there would've been more of a beneficial editing process. More often than not, the editors were not clear to what was necessary for the pieces. It would've been helpful to have more insightful and constructive critism instead of them just completely rewriting your article and drowning out your voice.
Advice
When you come in, ask for a specific topic of writing if you have a strong command of spanish. It will help you to not have a lot of fuff pieces to write.

Journalist Intern
June - August 2018 • Buenos Aires, Argentina
What I liked
I was able to write my own articles for the newspaper on subjects that interested me (mostly on politics, economy and social justice), which is rare for an intern. I loved the experience and I was able to explore journalism as a future career option.
What I wish was different
Unfortunately it was unpaid.
Advice
I would recommend for students who are interested in pursuing journalism, but it's long (3 months), and is unpaid, so the internship would be ideal for students already studying abroad in Buenos Aires.
