Charlton Kennels has such a great work environment. I had amazing coworkers, and an amazing boss! Everyone communicates effectively and gets the job done.

The hard work is worth it because you get to work with pups! Overall, I’d say to work hard, but also make time to play with the dogs :)

What I liked
Working at the kennels gives me the opportunity to spend quality time with dogs. There is always someone's pet to look after or do something for, whether that be directly, feeding or walking, or indirectly through laundry, picking up after them. All tasks were explained well and throughly which makes the job easier. Even though there is a fair amount of sweating, seeing the dogs smile after a walk or before a meal is special. More than seeing the dogs, interacting with their owners is just as sweet due to the people wanting to hear about their dog and share about them too. Sometimes there are cats staying here too!
What I wish was different
Advice
Be ready to be on your feet for hours at a time! It is fun but a little tiring. Bring a healthy and filling lunch.
