What I liked

I really liked the culture at the Ritz-Carlton. The staff was well-trained, respectful, and high-end without feeling stuffy or closed off. Everyone was very personable; we had fun in our jobs and spent every day trying to make our department the best possible, for our guests and ourselves. I gained a ton of knowledge about food, wine, and hotel service throughout the experience - overall it was very educational and beneficial to my future professional goals.

What I wish was different

The working hours for the job were rough, as our breakfast service required opening at 6am, and scheduling was not as flexible as some would have liked, but overall the actual working experience was very good.


When working in a hotel, especially a high-end one, network with everyone in the hotel! You never know what departments may interest you in the future and who might be able to provide you with some valuable insight.
