The professional staff had incredible energy, making the workplace a welcoming and productive space. I loved coming to work and seeing my coworkers and bosses everyday because of their dedication to making Orientation a great experience for students and families as well as staff.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been given a meal plan because we were required to live in the dorms and that did not make it easy to prepare food. Eating out all the time is expensive.
Advice
It’s definitely a full on job, but the experience is so worth it. You learn to be so confident in yourself and abilities as a leader, whatever that means for you and your personality. Go into it with an open mind and try to bring positive energy each day.

What I liked
I loved the opportunity to work directly with incoming first-year students throughout the summer! Not only do you get to help them transition to the university, build their schedules, but you also get to meet so many awesome people!

Advice
This is a great opportunity to step outside of your comfort zon! You get to learn so much about the University and all of the resources that it has to offer, work with some cool people, and meet future students at the University of Iowa.
