The office environment is very open and supportive. There are virtually no barriers separating the work of an intern from the other team members in the firm. Everyone is eager to share their knowledge and ideate for better ways to serve our clients. Their culture focuses on encouraging success and focusing on future improvements to their processes and services.
What I wish was different
The projects the other interns and I had did not share too much overlap, so it would have been great to have a truly team-driven solution in that sense. But frankly the work I am doing is still very meaningful and educational, so it's not a major drawback.
Advice
As with any job, it can be easy to sometimes get lulled into a groove (e.g. - generating the regular financial reports without thinking twice about it). The best parts of this job come by scrutinizing what's in front of you and asking questions. I definitely recommend making it a happy to constantly be Googling/researching what you find unfamiliar, and especially approaching the team with your questions if you can't find the answer yourself.
