I enjoyed working at a nonprofit because you get to see first hand the positive changes that you are bringing to people in the community. What I liked about working at the TRF is how tight knit the employees are because it is such a small corporation. The sense of community and cooperative atmosphere made coming to work enjoyable and made me want to put in my 100% best effort.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could have been able to learn a little more about their Information Systems infrastructure as that is my concentration in Questrom. At the time there were just so many events going on and we were all so busy that I somewhat lost track of the skills that I wanted to learn more about and cultivate.
Advice
One piece of advice is to be connected with the people that you work with and to not be afraid to ask questions. It is important to realize that you are coming into a new environment and it is normal not to have all the answers right away. Never have too much pride to get informed!
