What I liked

It was a great experience to work as a PCA for Colby! I was able to gain many new skills as I assisted with his daily tasks. As a premed student, this experience has reassured my decision to choose a career in medicine. I recommend this for everyone who is interested in healthcare, it is a rewarding position.

What I liked

Working as a PCA was a great experience for someone looking to explore different roles in the the healthcare field. My client was very pleasant, and he was happy to get me in touch with healthcare professionals in order to set up shadowing sessions.

What I wish was different

Advice

The work is often nonstop and you will sometimes need to assist your client with very private matters such as bathing and cathing. These may seem awkward at first but it is something every healthcare professional will have to overcome.
