Twin Rivers Paper Co, LLC

Mill Groundskeeper/ Fork Truck Operator

July 2022 - August 2023 • Little Falls, NY

What I liked

The friendliness of everyone that I worked with. Being the only female worker, everyone was helpful and ready to lend a hand.

What I wish was different

The environment is obviously different because it is a factory, I like being outside working. I was able to mow or paint outside, which helped when I wanted fresh air.

Advice

Work hard, and respect blue-collar workers. People put a lot of their time into this job at all hours of the day and night.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • Little Falls, NY

What I liked

The people at Twin Rivers were a pleasure to work with. I always knew that if I had a question or concern they would be more than happy to help me out. It was also a very good introduction to being a mechanical engineer in a manufacturing setting, as you spend much of your time in a paper mill.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time to work with my fellow interns and my boss. It felt like just as I was really getting the hang of everything and really making some progress it was time for me to return to school.

Advice

Never be afraid to ask questions! You might not NEED to know for your internship what the fourdrinier section of a paper machine does, but that doesn't mean that if you're curious about it you can't/shouldn't ask about it. As mentioned above, the workers in both the mills and the office are an amazing resource to get the best out of your experience with Twin.
