About United States Securities and Exchange Commission

The Student Honors Legal Program (for first-, second- and third-year law students) and the Student Honors Business Program (for undergraduate and graduate students) are collectively known as the Student Honors Program, or SHP. The SHP is a 10-week unpaid internship program that offers students an opportunity to contribute to the mission of the SEC while working toward completion of their academic requirements. The program is both professionally and academically beneficial, providing participants with unparalleled real-world experience that may assist with future career goals. Students who are selected for the program will work with current SEC employees in one of the participating divisions or offices.

Reviews

Summer Scholar

May 2022 - August 2022 New York City, NY
“Great program overall; opportunities to take financial courses on the private industry within the program; super well organized; interesting and relevant work”

Student Business Honors Intern

May 2021 - August 2021 Philadelphia, PA
“I learned a ton and was exposed to many different topics that examiners take part in when working with a company. It was super neat to view the other side of finance, instead of just working for a financial institution or investment advisor.”
