Excellent opportunity that gives experience you don’t normally find in the ib world.

Maybe a higher pay but there are opportunities for scholarships.
Advice
It’s trial by fire so be prepared to figure out a lot yourself.

What I liked
The learning curve was very steep; I developed a much stronger business acumen in just a few months’ time, learning financial analysis, market sizing, and other very important transferable business skills.
What I wish was different
It would have been great to have a little more opportunity to network with CEOs of potential investment opportunity companies as an entry-level intern, but this comes as one stays longer with the firm.
Advice
Working University Growth Fund completely changed my trajectory in developing business acumen and understanding business finance and strategy. UGF packs in tons of learning and experiences in a short amount of time, and the network one can build through UGF with exceptional students in the firm and business people outside the firm is fantastic. Don’t be scared off by the lack of pay - it’s much more valuable than a $20/hr internship.

Intern
May - August 2018 • Salt Lake City, UT
What I liked
The people were amazing! Also, it was amazing hands-on training from the partners. Interns were expected to learn as we went, which taught me a lot and showed me that I can learn more than I think if I am willing to put in the effort.
What I wish was different
Advice
Do everything that you can! The times that I felt the best about this internship were the times that I was fully invested. Get on every deal that you can and just dedicate a lot of time to it.
