What I liked

I liked learning how to craft my resume with other professionals within the Career Services Department.

What I wish was different

My only wish was being able to work more hours. (I was also taking summer courses). During the summer it was only June to July.

Advice

Always be prepared to help someone. Doesn’t matter how rough your day was. Students are looking to you for some form of guidance. It’s about putting them before yourself sometimes.

Research Assistant

May - August 2018 • Tampa, FL

What I liked

Getting lots of experience with a subject I knew nothing about beforehand, doing experiments and analyses on my own, and having practice presenting to my peers and superiors. It was a great learning experience.

What I wish was different

More organization, a lot of my peers did not have mentors that knew what was going on and they did not get such good supervision.

Advice

I would advise to learn as much as possible and do what you can to get leadership roles, such as performing experiments and analyses on your own.
