I liked being able to interact with the kids one-on-one, developing skills in areas of therapy I hadn't been exposed to before. I also liked that I got to interact with clinical psychologists from the University of Washington. I felt like I got a lot of exposure to the field and learned a lot.
What I wish was different
It was such a huge program, so sometimes it was difficult to really get to know everyone, especially in the span of only an 8 week long internship.
Advice
Keep an open mind! Working with kids on the spectrum can be really difficult at times, but I loved developing connections with them and felt like I learned a lot.
