Area Supervisor - Cash Control

What I liked

The best thing about working as an Area Supervisor in Cash Control was the people that worked with me. They had made my experience fun and as little stress as possible, especially when I had a shortage somewhere in my calculations. They would be supportive and help me figure out what I had done wrong. I liked that I was the head of control of my area and, I would be the one to run the show, divvy up tasks and make sure that everything that needed to get done would get done by the end of my shift.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish that was different was the fact that I was promoted to a supervisor from my finance internship. If I continued with my finance internship, I would have been able to learn more from the lead of the accounting department, the director of finance, and a few others within the finance department, which I feel may have been better in the long run for me, but I did get a year of learning so I thought I would take on a new challenge. Plus, being a supervisor looks a lot better on a resume. I did make it my mission to talk with as many people in the finance department to learn about what they do so I could still learn somethings as if I was in the finance internship.

Advice

The best advice I could share about this experience, would be that the people you work with makes your job fun and easy or hard and repetitious. My co-workers made it so I was excited to go to work and do the duties I needed. Not to mention, those that I supervised were respectable and willing to do anything and everything they could to make me look good to my superiors. Without my co-workers and through past job experiences, the people are the ones to make working enjoyable.

Meeting coworkers from foreign countries and being able to socialize on the job

If the minimum temperature for opening the water facilities was 65 degrees Fahrenheit

Advice

This is a great job experience if you love to socialize, seek to improve your first aid and CPR skills, and if your looking to put a variety of skills on your resume.

What I liked

I loved performing everyday and getting paid well to do so. I also liked collaborating with my fellow performers and interacting and entertaining guests.

What I wish was different

I wish the heat guidelines had been clearer and that the Entertainment dept. had been better equipped to provide care for performers.

Advice

Always sign a contract as a performer. Read it thoroughly and speak up for yourself. Know your worth as a performer using your body as your instrument.

What I wish was different

Very hot standing outside all day, Higher wages, wished I could have worked at more than 2 rides, when employee parking lot flooded that made getting to work a lot longer, less cutting of hours would be good

Associate Services Supervisor

What I liked

I liked that I was able to work somewhere where many of my friends worked. Additionally, I also learned a lot about what is required to on board a new associate. I felt comfortable in the work environment, everyone there treated me with respect.

What I wish was different

I spent a lot of days bored on the computer or filing all day. Even though I worked directly in an HR department, I felt like I could have learned a lot more.

Advice

Be ready to be a jack of all trades, master of none. I learned a lot about many different aspects of running an amusement park, but I felt like everything was surface level.
