I loved my co-workers at Van Meter. Van Meter holds 5 core principles with the first one being "People". They put their customers first by going the extra mile and make sure their employees love their job and they really do! Every co-workers was welcoming and truly cared about me. I never felt like I was an intern: I wasn't made to go on coffee runs but I worked on major projects that helped the company and I'm very thankful for how valued I felt.
What I wish was different
At first, my department didn't know what to do with me. I had a project to do but it went quicker than expected so I asked for more work and they figured some more things for me to do. The extra projects were great ways to learn new skills.
Advice
One piece of advice is to ask questions. Ask questions when you're not confident even if it's scary. I learned a lot about IT when I asked how to do something even if it seemed silly.

What I liked
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to do a lot more on my own. I wasn't given enough of my own work, and when I asked for more I was told that I was doing a great job and there wasn't much else I could be doing.
Advice
Make sure that when you are looking at companies, you like the job AND the culture. Only having culture is worse than only liking the job.
