Vermont Employee Ownership Center

Project and Research Analysis Intern

May - August 2019 • Burlington, VT

What I liked

I loved the networking opportunities. By attending a variety of events the company planned and sponsored, I got to meet and talk with business owners all over Vermont. I also loved getting to do an in depth research project on businesses in Vermont I didn't know much about, creating a resource/guide the company will be able to reference in their future work.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to be involved more in the behind the scenes planning of their annual expo event, but I understand that due to the timing of the start of the internship that wasn't really an option.

I would say go into your internship with an open mind. The best things I learned and took away from the internship weren't things necessarily described on the job description itself. By going in with little expectations and being open to every opportunity, you can get more out of the internship itself beyond the specific roles or duties described.
