Victory Garden Initiative (VGI) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with communities to grow their own food as a way of life to create a community-based, ecologically sustainable, socially just and nutritious food system for all. Established in 2009, we recognize the negative environmental, social, economic, and health implications of our dominant food system. The the solution was educating communities (children and adults) about growing their own food as well as actively distributing food from our 1.5-acre farm. Our slogan is: “This is a grassroots movement. Move grass. Grow food.”
