Project Engineer Intern

June - September 2018 • Century City, CA

What I liked

Working for WEBCOR was an amazing experience. I was fully immersed into a team that brought me up to speed very quickly and made me feel like a valued component, not just an intern. I was challenged when having to make decisions and create a presentation observing something I thought could be changed on the project. I focused on plastic water bottle waste on our construction site and did a case study involving the subcontractors and our own team. It was a very great learning experience that furthered my interest in promoting green and sustainable practices.

Mural Painter

June - August 2018 • San Luis Obispo, CA

What I liked

I loved being able to have a hand and (literally) being able to leave a mark on the new Cal Poly student housing that students will be able to see in the years to come.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to start earlier!

Advice

Always apply for any job you have any interest in, no matter your expertise. I had very minor experience with mural painting before this, but I learned so much from this position and can confidently bring what I learned into most any position I would apply for in the future.
